When we made the decorations for that bohemian wedding, the bride also asked us to turn these very cool keys she found online into wedding favors for guests. At first, I was going to make paper tags like I saw on this Etsy pin, but then I saw these with keychains attached and loved that idea. When I went looking on Amazon for the brass keychains, I came across the little brass thank you hearts you’ll see below. Bam! I thought the three elements worked well together and now guests would have Vintage Key Bottle Opener Wedding Favors in the form of a thank you keychain. Pinterest is such a great place to get inspiration for projects, even if you end up making your own version of it, don’t you think?

Vintage Key Bottle Opener Wedding Favors Steps
1: Use the pliers to open the jump ring on the keychain.

2: Add a brass thank you heart and close the jump ring with the pliers.

3: Now add another jump ring to the end of the keychain chain.

4: Then place the top or opening of a key onto that jump ring and close with the pliers.

5: Cut 10 inches of organza ribbon and tie it into a bow on the keychain where the jump ring attaches to the key.

That’s it! Now just repeat those steps 500 more times. Kidding, well maybe, depending on how many favors you need to make. I only needed to make 75, so it didn’t take me very long at all to complete them. If you have some family to help assembly-line style, you could crank out a ton in just an hour. I’ll add that the brass jump rings that came with the keychains were extremely easy to work with and felt nice and sturdy, perfect for the brass hearts and heavy keys. In retrospect, I wish I’d have used a different type of ribbon or string, something a little more bohemian, but this dusty rose matched everything perfectly for this wedding. What would you have tied onto these Vintage Key Bottle Opener Wedding Favors?

Oh my gosh! These are so unique as a wedding favor. I’m not much of a beer drinker, so I had to look at the link to see how these worked…lol. Love it!
I absolutely love these vintage keys! I love key crafts! I’m pinning these!
Beautiful! I would love this as a wedding favor. Old keys have so much character.
This is such an awesome project and a great Wedding favor!
What a fun wedding favor idea! I love these antique keys and totally missed that they were bottle openers at first. I think the ribbon worked well but there are so many options out there that I’m sure you could make yourself crazy with options.
Those are beautiful! What a practical and lovely wedding favor idea. Pinned.
I love, love this project! They would have been perfect guest favors for my recent Alice in Wonderland theme party. I purchased large keys at Michaels that I tied to vintage teacups/saucers. This would have been a better use of the keys. I’ll save this idea for another event.
