Would you be surprised if I told you I found this cute St. Pats Day banner in Target’s Bullseye’s Playground section? No? Good! I couldn’t resist picking this up, but as great as the price is ($3), it seemed a little on the bland side for my tastes. Are you thinking it needs glitter? Me, too! I also didn’t want to keep the rustic jute cording for the string, so naturally I had to use gold ribbon to finish off this Glittered St. Pats Day Banner. How could I not? I used the same green glitter paint I used on the Glittered Easter Egg Decoration, but for the gold paint, I added a gob of fine, gold glitter. If you can’t find this banner kit, you could easily cut letters out of felt sheets and punch holes.

- Green Glitter Acrylic Paint
- Gold Acrylic Paint
- Fine Gold Glitter

- Narrow Gold Ribbon
steps
one: Remove any string holding the banner together. If you don’t have the banner kit, Just print and cut out some block letters for a stencil on the green felt.
TIP: If your string is jute cord, you’ll want to make sure to pick off all the stray fibers left on the letters.
two: Use the green glitter paint to paint down the center of each letter, not painting to the edges. Let the paint dry completely.
three: Mix the gold glitter into the gold paint.
four: Paint the edges of each letter with the gold glitter paint. Let them paint dry completely.
five: Measure and cut 6 feet of gold ribbon.
six: Weave the ribbon through the holes in the letters.
Yes, that is all there is to this Glittered St. Pats Day Banner! You can take a simple or boring banner and make it into something far more eye-catching just by adding glitter and a cute ribbon. If you don’t care for glitter, what are some other ways we could spice it up a bit?
