Frankenstein Marshmallow Pops
Materials
- Original-sized Marshmallows
- Leaf Green Icing Gel
- Chocolate Chips
- White Pearl sprinkles
- Black Food Marker
- 12-inch Lollipop Sticks
- Mint Extract (optional)
- Paint Brush
Steps
One: Mix 1/4 cup water with 1/8 tsp of green gel coloring. Add mint flavoring (optional). Mix until most of the gel is dissolved.
Two: Use the paintbrush to lightly brush the outside of the marshmallow with the green mixture. If you don’t want green fingers you may want to use food-safe plastic gloves.
Three: Let the marshmallows dry completely.
Four: Push the marshmallows onto the lollipop sticks until the stick is almost to the top of the marshmallow and then set them aside.
Five: Melt the chocolate chips in a small bowl in the microwave in short time increments, stirring each time.
Six: Spoon out a small amount of chocolate onto the top of a marshmallow.
Seven: Use a spoon to spread chocolate over the top of the marshmallow and slightly on the sides (this is Frankenstein‘s hair). Repeat for the remaining pops and set them aside to dry.
Eight: After the chocolate is dry, draw the face on using the food marker.
Nine: Add a dot of chocolate to each side of the face at the lower edge of the marshmallow‘s side.
Ten: Before the dots dry, add one pearl sprinkle to each dot. Repeat for the remaining pops.
Eleven: Let them dry completely and serve.
That’s it! As far as marshmallow pops go, these are completely do-able for rookie pop makers. They’re perfect for your Halloween party as well as classroom treats. If you want to make a cute Frankenstein decoration check out this Tin Can Frankenstein project.
