If you have lived in a Gulf Coast state, you are probably very familiar with Mardi Gras celebrations. Mardi Gras is so fun and popular it has spread to other areas as well. Aside from the lively parades and famous balls, Mardi Gras decorations are one of the best parts of the holiday. This Easy & Thrifty Mardi Gras Wreath is the perfect way to show your Mardi Gras spirit without spending a ton of time or money. All you need to do is stop by your local Dollar Tree or find the supplies online and you’ll be set.

Easy & Thrifty Mardi Gras Wreath
- 14-inch Metal Wreath Form
- 5 Feather Boas in Mardi Gras Colors
- Mardi Gras Mask
- Mardi Gras Beads
- Hot Glue Gun
Easy & Thrifty Mardi Gras Wreath steps
one: Tie one end of your first feather boa onto the wreath form. If for some reason your boa doesn’t have a string, hot glue it on.
two: Wrap the boa around and around the metal wreath form. When you get to the end, tie the string to the form. The boa should take up 1/4 of the wreath circle.
three: Continue tying and wrapping the other three feather boas around the wreath form until it is completely covered.
four: Cut the bead strands so they are no longer necklaces.
five: Weave both of the ends of the bead strands through the metal wreath form so that they create a swag. You shouldn’t need to glue them in place.
six: Hot glue your Mardi Gras mask to the wreath form on each side of the wreath, on the metal part, not to the feathers. You’ll need to pull back the feathers to expose the metal.
That’s it! No need to make a hanger since the metal wreath form will hang right onto a hook, like a Command Hook. This Easy & Thrifty Mardi Gras Wreath couldn’t be easier to make. I made this one in less than 10 minutes! How crazy fast is that? We also made a Feather Boa Halloween Wreath using similar methods but with a foam wreath form. As I always say, crafts don’t need to cost a ton of money or take days to make to look great.

Wow Marie, I love this wreath! Did you make all the others as well? I don’t dare say it out loud but I still have my christmas wreath outside – but to be fair it’s quite simple and probably won’t bother anyone 😉
Thanks, Habiba! Yes, I made all of the others. I don’t really make traditional wreaths, but I enjoy finding different materials to use instead.
