When we went to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Florida in 2012, I got to try Butterbeer for the first time. From the first drink I was hooked! Then, when Drew wanted to have a Harry Potter birthday party I knew that we had to serve Butterbeer. The only thing was, I didn’t know that there are, what seems like, hundreds of versions. Some require cooking, others sound just plain gross. When I found a recipe in the “Spell Book” I made for the kids, I thought “Well, it’s simple and seems tasty!” This Easy Butterbeer Recipe turned out to be wonderful!
Easy Butterbeer Recipe
Butterbeer Portion
Materials
- 2 liter of Cream Soda (I recommend A&W Cream Soda)
- 2TBSP Butter Extract
- 2TSP Rum Extract
steps
one: Drop the rum and butter extracts into the 2-liter bottle, put on the cap and slowly rotate it until combined. DO NOT shake the bottle of soda. Not unless you want a huge mess, lol.
Cream Topping Portion
Materials
- 1 (7oz) Container of Marshmallow Crème
- 1 Cup Whipping Cream
- 1TSP Rum Extract
steps
one: Add the marshmallow creme, the whipping cream, and the rum extract together into an electric mixer and combine them until smooth.
two: Pour the butterbeer (cream soda) into a glass, then drizzle it with the cream topping.
That’s it! It was surprisingly simple to make this Easy Butterbeer Recipe. I highly recommend trying out several recipes before your party to make sure you get the flavor you’re looking for. I found this recipe to be the closest to the one I tasted at Harry Potter World, though. You can find cute little glass mugs at Dollar Tree to serve it in, too.
