Okay, so this craft is a little different than what you’d normally see for a wood sign. I found this particular sign in Target’s dollar spot, but I’ve seen other wood signs in stores with images burned or carved into them with all sorts of different designs. Yes, of course, it’s fine as is with just plain wood, but I had other plans. I love having brightly colored decor for Spring (and Summer, too) so I thought I could treat this like a coloring page and Color a Spring Floral Wood Sign. Permanent markers are a must and just to be safe, I sealed it with a clear coat to keep the colors from running. What’s funny is that even though this craft is simple, it still took a while to color in all of the leaves and flowers and stay “in the lines” lol.

Color a Spring Floral Wood Sign
1. I recommend testing out your markers on a piece of paper or wood scrap before you start coloring your sign so you can make sure you like your color choices.
2. Color away! You should color in the same direction as the wood grain for the best coverage. It’ll also help keep your marker tips intact. Once you’re done coloring, let it dry for a bit.
3. Lightly spray some sealer over the colored area. Make sure to shake the can very well beforehand and spray at least six inches away. You don’t want to make the colors run while trying to keep the colors from running.
That’s it! Easy peasy. Like I said before, this isn’t an overly complicated craft to complete, but just like with coloring pages, it can take a bit to color everything in the way you want. For me, choosing the colors I want to use takes almost as much time as the actual coloring! It’s great, though, because you can use your creativity to choose the perfect colors for your particular sign. So would you try to Color a Spring Floral Wood Sign?
