Did you find the clue for this month’s block yet? It was the trees guitar pic after the snake and sunset guitar pics at the end of the post. I went with subtle again this time around! How many of the easter eggs have you found so far?

I had a marvelous time designing and making this block! It was one of the first ones I felt instantly inspired by a specific stitch. Since the album art was all about trees, I felt like the alpine stitch was the perfect way to express that idea. How could I not use it? Now I know her forest is not an alpine forest, but I think it’s okay to stretch our imaginations a bit with this one. It has the right feel.

The album cover for this era is subtle to say the least! Finding yarn in these grayscale colorways, is pretty easy. For the solid version, I focused on finding a shade of gray that would gel with the other solid colors well. For the variegated version, Bernat actually has a few different color options and even when they do retire a certain color, they always have some version of a variegated gray to replace it.

So go grab your hook & yarn and let’s get to it! Don’t forget to share your finished blocks in our Eras Crochet Along Facebook group! I absolutely enjoy seeing all of your different versions and yarn choices!

So did your time crocheting this block slip away like a bottle of wine lol? But seriously, isn’t it amazing how quickly the alpine stitch flows off the hook? I definitely don’t mind it. Is it kind of a yarn eater? Yes, but we don’t mind because the texture is worth every extra bit of yarn.

Don’t forget to look for clues for the next Eras Crochet Along block within this post! I feel like making it a bit more challenging this time, so keep your eyes peeled while reading!
